I need to ask you about a web page for my new venture.

My boyfriend bought the address: www.example.com for me.

I just need something fairly simple and inexpensive to get started with.

I want to put up a selection of colorful photo's (10-15 initially) from some of my past make up jobs and also some photo's of my paintings. I will want to add to these selections in due course.

There would be a little bit of writing about me and who I am and what  services I can offer and what I do as an artist and a painter and maybe I can sell some paintings or get a commission to work.

How much would this cost ?

Hi,

I’m more of a programmer for larger websites… I can’t draw or make anything look pretty.

So at this stage you really need a webdesigner not a programmer like me.

However I’d suggest that you don’t even need one of those.

I’ll give you some pointers:

1)      Go to http://www.tumblr.com/ and create an account.
2)      You can upload all your pictures yourself and make a pretty page with writing etc.  It is all free.
3)      Then follow the instructions on http://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/custom_domains to point the website your boyfriend has bought to your tumblr page.
4)      That’s it.

Once you've got a simple website up come back to me and I can help you with tools to see how many people are visiting the website, and things like simple free promotion you can do via Google.
